Union Staff Service Worker
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
(Hours will fluctuate dictated by business needs and must be able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays when necessary)
Responsibilities
-
The Union Staff Service Worker will be to ensure the timely picking of merchandise and products to fill specific customer / store orders in a manner that meets company standards for accuracy, safety, security, and productivity. Also responsible for putting away of units coming in from PO vendor receipts and pullbacks from our retail stores.

Perform picking duties in an efficient manner using standard operating procedures and meeting productivity goals.

Perform put-away duties in an efficient manner using standard operating procedures and meeting productivity goals.

Ensure the timely picking of merchandise and products from designated areas to fill specific customer and store needs.
-
Select, gather, move, and inspect merchandise and products from one location to another.
-
Verify proper merchandise item and quantity when picking or putting away product.
-
Ensure the quality of the merchandise is first quality and free of damage.
-
Assist in maintaining proper stock levels of merchandise and products in the proper locations for effective picking.
-
Operate RF equipment to meet productivity standards.
-
Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner following standard work methods.
-
Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise, avoiding damage, bending, or tearing.

Ability to use ladders on a frequent basis.
-
Utilize proper techniques for picking, packing, pushing/pulling, and lifting

Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment

Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support company’s goals and objectives

Perform other related duties and assignments as required by management
Skills, Abilities, Experience and Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Ability to meet deadlines/productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
-
Good attendance/punctuality record; consistently at work and on time.

Ability to learn new skills and follow directions.
-
Good math, counting, and problem-solving skills.
-
Must be customer service oriented.
-
Good verbal communication skills.
-
Must be able to understand spoken and written English to perform necessary job functions.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Must have excellent attention to detail while maintaining accuracy.

Must maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times with the highest level of customer service.

Individual must be Safety conscious.

Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radio-frequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus.

Previous warehouse/distribution/production experience helpful.

Basic knowledge of computer PC skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is helpful.

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
-
Ability to work in a warehouse environment setting with physical demands that include continuous standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more.

Ability to use handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF guns, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise.

Dependable team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done and flexible in scheduling is required based on business needs (i.e.; increased hours, weekends, holidays, and volume of work, staffing shortages, etc.).

Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
