Senior Linux Administrator
Founded in 1973, Men’s Wearhouse is one of North America's largest specialty retailers of men's apparel, currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Unix Administrator.
Key Accountabilities:
• Infrastructure support of Linux Operating Systems in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization.
• Support and maintain Linux systems in a virtualized (VMWare) environment.
• Develop project plans for new implementations or upgrades
• Develop processes to improve the uptime and monitoring of the Linux server environment using SolarWinds, VCenter and native logs.
• Ability to write and maintain scripts in administrative language (Python, Perl, ksh, bash…) to automate system deployments and configuration management
• Experienced in the use of configuration and automation tools such as Red Hat Cloud Forms, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Docker, etc…
• Knowledgeable of SAN environments connected to Linux systems.
• Design, implement, test, and improve disaster recovery procedures and system designs.
• Work on multiple projects / possibly as project leader.
• Troubleshoot server problems and develop permanent resolutions
• Work with Application Support, Developers and other infrastructure groups in supporting applications
• Respond and resolve helpdesk Linux support tickets.
• Provide onsite and offsite (on call) support.
Skills, Abilities, Experience & Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience with Linux (RedHat) in a large-scale (200+ servers) environment.
• 3+ years working with VMWare.
• 1-2 years’ experience using automation tools to deploy and maintain systems and system configuration.
• 1-2 years’ experience working with containerization applications.
• 1-2 years’ experience working in an agile or dev/ops work environment using CI/CD tool sets.
• Candidate must have good troubleshooting skills and be comfortable with all aspects of operating system administration
• Ability to put together and follow a project plan.
• Working knowledge of database support, specifically Oracle.
• Working knowledge of SAN and NAS.
• Ability to work independently on projects and duties without constant supervision.
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands:
• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
• Ability to work at least 40+ hours per week from the Company’s Houston, Texas office with flexibility based on business needs
