We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PR Manager for our Joseph Abboud brand to join us in our New York, NY office.


The key responsibility of this role is to maximize positive press coverage of the brand(s) across all markets. This role would be the main point of contact for fashion press, responsible for creating and maintaining relationships at Fashion Director/Editor Level. This person should be proactive in seeking out opportunities for editorial coverage at all levels and positioning the brand(s) in an aspirational way.


Responsibilities:

•Actively develop strategy / demonstrate strategic thinking and build annual plans in active markets

•Management of external agency(ies)to drive pre-established results

•Capitalize on press contacts/relationships in order to build on existing relations for the brand(s), working alongside PR Director and PR agency(ies)

•Build on existing media relationships while creating new contacts – long and short lead, mainstream media, trade and online – updating and maintaining the master contact list

     oStrengthen press contacts through regular outreach and entertaining

•Proactively seek new editorial opportunities for the brand in the market

•Work with agency(ies) to secure placements and news stories in key media to drive brand awareness and generate sales

•Manage and development of press releases, press texts (bios, boilerplates, timelines, etc.) and targeted mailings (master contact lists, pitch lists) with the assistance of the PR Director

•Demonstrate creative thinking and actively execute ideas that build brand credibility and positively impact the business

•Measure and demonstrate success of projects to leadership team

     oAnalyzing media coverage data

•Outline pitch strategies, target publications and drive editorial in these specific areas

•Develop strong cross functional relationships – influence and leverage PR successes

•Develop seasonal strategies for market, working closely with PR Director

•Develop creative initiatives to maximize press coverage

•Manage project budgets on all PR activities associated with each project

•Partner with PR Director to proactively pitch major brand news stories, helping to prepare spokespeople and source/create relevant material/assets

•Manage seasonal presentations / shows / other events Create and share strategies for all seasonal PR activities and events including:

     oSeasonal press events

     oSeasonal mailings (invites, lookbooks, gifts)

     oSpecial events (i.e. press shopping previews, store openings, etc.)

•Measure media impressions and maintain a media archive including editorial clippings and photos.

•Managing and organizing the PR fashion closet, manage product inventory and seasonal product replenishment.  

•Execute all sponsorship wardrobing needs in coordination with Joseph Abboud and manage the wardrobe budget. 

•Execute all VIP wardrobing needs including endorsements, celebrities, other VIPs

•Maintain brand(s) assets including a press kit, partnerships, bios, timelines, seasonal ad campaigns, events, etc.  

•Support, when necessary, others in the communications teams and keep them up to date on all Joseph Abboud events and press coverage for content.

Skills, Abilities, Experience & Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or related fields
•4+ years’ experience in Fashion Public Relations required – luxury experience preferred
•Experience working with media outlets, social media influencers, celebrities and their teams
•Proven experience producing events and photoshoots
•Proven experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously, working with editorial calendars and using data analysis
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to negotiate
•Ability to think out-of-the-box, be resourceful and maintain a positive can-do attitude
•Entrepreneurial, willingness to roll up your sleeves and able to thrive in a fast-pace environment

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
● Ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the Company’s New York, NY office with flexibility based on project needs
● Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects #TBindeed   #LI-AS1
