Union Picker

 

Schedule                 

2nd Shift: Monday – Friday: 3:25pm to11:55pm

(Hours will fluctuate dictated by business needs and must be able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays when necessary)

 

Responsibilities    

  • The second shift is vital to our operations.  It needs to be filled with people that can change their duties as needed.  Second shift resource is expected to know job functions over multiple departments. The second shift steps into the departments where back logs exist as directed by management.
  • Induct merchandise to sorter treys using standard operating procedure while meeting expected productivity rates.
  • Pack merchandise from RSU sorter into store boxes using standard operating procedures while meeting expected productivity rates.
  • Insure use of standard operating procedures to insure inventory accuracy.
  • Using approved shipping process of outbound store and ecommerce cartons produce the correct shipping label and sort outbound boxes based on the shipping method to be used.
  • Perform the packing of ecommerce orders using the standard operating procedure and meeting expected productivity rates. Ability to use multiple packaging techniques.
  • Bring any issues or discrepancies in processing to attention of supervisor.
  • Operate a hand-held radio-frequency scanner (RF equipment) to process merchandise.
  • Make boxes as needed.
  • Ability to learn and retain instructions covering wide variety of tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervision.
  • Knowledge of a shipping a plus.
  • Perform picking duties based on standard operating procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Perform put-away duties based on standard operating procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Ensure the timely picking of merchandise and products from designated areas to fill specific store needs and customer orders.
  • Select, gather, move, and inspect merchandise and products from one location to another.
  • Move customer orders through a put to order process using standard operations procedures while meeting productivity rates.
  • Ensure exact count and type of merchandise picked and put away from or into inventory locations.
  • Ensure the quality of the merchandise and products are accurate and free of damage.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy of merchandise and products in the proper inventory locations.
  • Make supervisor aware of any large inventory discrepancies or issues found in daily processing of work.
  • Tasks will be executed using a wireless RF (radio-frequency) hand-held scanner.
  • Accurately perform procedures using company computer systems as needed.
  • Bring product with missing tags to attention of supervisor. Tag or re-tag merchandise as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and use ladder.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Skills, Abilities, Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Good attendance/punctuality record; consistently at work and on time.
  • Ability to learn new skills and follow directions.
  • Good math, counting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Good verbal communication skills.  
  • Must be able to understand spoken and written English to perform necessary job functions.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail while maintaining accuracy.
  • Must maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times with the highest level of customer service.
  • Individual must be Safety conscious.
  • Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radio-frequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus.
  • Previous warehouse/distribution/production experience helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of computer PC skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment setting with physical demands that include continuous standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to use handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF guns, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise.
  • Dependable team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done and flexible in scheduling is required based on business needs (i.e.; increased hours, weekends, holidays, and volume of work, staffing shortages, etc.).
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Must be able to work in all areas of production.
