We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator.  This person will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and support for our employee benefit programs. This is an individual contributor, hands-on position that will report to the Manager, Benefits and work closely with the Benefits Team.



Key Accountabilities:

•Produce, validate and distribute key benefit eligibility and process reports

•Respond to carrier and/or employee inquiries for all life and disability claims; researching and providing data when needed

•Administer the Tuition Reimbursement Program

•Review and process new hire, term, change events in HRIS system for union employees

•Manage and coordinate the preparation and distribution of employee communications

•Research and respond to employee service center inquiries and requests

•Process enrollment and eligibility adjustments with payroll

•Leave of Absence billing; including payment processing and HRIS updates

•Process and track benefits-related invoices and expenses

•Administer and coordinate annual onsite wellness initiatives 

•Maintain employee benefit files in accordance with internal policies and procedures

•Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes

•Evaluate and advise on internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency

•Manage benefits general email 

•Distribute mail, order supplies, coordinate department events, etc. 

•Perform other Benefit Administration functions and projects, as assigned by Management

Skills/Abilities/Experience & Qualifications:
•Position based in Fremont, CA headquarters
•High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 
•A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as administrator 
•Ability to juggle multiple tasks at a time and provide timely follow up
•Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter and work effectively in a fast paced environment
•Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations with an attention to detail
•Flexible with a team-oriented approach
•Ability to learn quickly and exercise good judgment 
•Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills 
•Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly demeanor 
•Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality 
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook 
•Experience with PeopleSoft a plus

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to work at least 40 hours per week  
•Ability to handle repetitive motion necessary for typing and filing 
•Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.
